Stitch & B.I.T.C.H: A Creative Workshop for Emotional Regulation & Self-Reflection

CA$135.00
Sold Out

Where: Fortify Wellness 100-123 Marion St, WINNIPEG MANITOBA R2H 0T3

When: Saturday May 24th, 2025 from 6-9PM

What: Join us for a 3-hour hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the basics of punch needle art while exploring how creativity can help you understand and manage your emotions.

✔ Develop a deeper understanding of how creative practices can support emotional well-being
✔ Express emotions in a tangible, creative way

This workshop is for you if you✨:

✔ Feel overwhelmed or overstimulated
✔ Have difficulty slowing down and staying present
✔ Experience persistent stress or burnout
✔ Have a desire for a creative outlet that fosters self-reflection and emotional processing

Workshop Schedule & Activities

Part 1: Laying the Groundwork (6:00 – 7:00 PM)

  • Welcome, introductions, and intention setting

  • Learn the basics of punch needling

  • Introduction to emotional awareness and how our nervous system responds to stress

Part 2: Creating with Meaning (7:00 – 8:00 PM)

  • Begin creating your personalized "window" piece, representing your emotional states and window of tolerance

  • Explore the concept of stress—what it is, how it affects the body, and how we can begin to shift our experience of it

  • Experience a sense of flow and calm through guided, mindful stitching

Part 3: Deepening the Story (8:00 – 9:00 PM)

  • Continue working on your piece while reflecting on insights that have emerged

  • Identify a central theme or message within your design

  • Option to write a brief reflection and share (if comfortable) with the group

Disclaimer: We'll hold a supportive and compassionate space where you can engage with the material in whatever way feels right for you. There's no pressure to share or participate beyond your comfort level—this is a chance to move at your own pace, honoring your current energy and needs. We simply invite you to come with an open and curious mindset, free of judgment, and be willing to gently explore how stress may be showing up in your life. From there, you'll be supported in discovering new, empowering ways forward.

Workshop Kit:

  • Access to a variety of different wool yarns in varying textures, weights and colours.

  • 10” Monk’s Cloth wrapped frame.

  • Students will borrow a #10 regular Oxford Punch Needle for the workshop; it is not a part of the kit. Punch needles and other supplies can be purchased through Brittney before or after the workshop.

Snacks: A light snack from the Fortify kitchen will be served!

Prerequisite: None! Punch needle is beginner friendly and easy to learn. No prior experience with punch needling is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore!

Class Size: This retreat is limited to 16 participants.

*No cancellations or refunds will be taken two weeks prior to the retreat date*
